Hello there and greetings from the crew of Starship Xoo.
First off, I'd like to point out that it's cold. Bloody cold. I'm stuck here in Canada and the parking authority's clamped the wheels on my spaceship. It's been months since I've been back to Merrie Olde - mind you, the last expedition there was a little on the ill-fated side, but that's all right. In any event, I thought I'd take this opportunity - being stuck in a house with a howling blizzard outside - to let you all know what's been happening in the world of Xoo.
It's been a year since we recorded ANU and a tumultuous time it's been. Xoo played Hawkfest 2003 as part of the Assassins of Silence and we've even found time to record some new material - OMSE - and produce a compilation - Xowie! Xesty! Xingy! - all of which are now available for sale in the Baxaar. I've got tons of new ideas for material, but being stuck in the arctic wildernesses of Canada makes it difficult to work with Captain K in the Mountaingrill Studio. If anyone has any influence with the parking authority or Air Canada,
please contact us so we can get this show on the road!
In other news, I've just finished recording material with the Korea Project, a mysterious group of individuals who produce bizarre comedic prog rock. As soon as we get some of it mixed to a state that does not produce spontaneous vomiting in laboratory animals, we'll post some for your entertainment. And Captain K has been gigging regularly with the Assassins, so if you need your Hawkwind fix, check them out.
Well I think that's all that needs doing today, so I'm going off in search of toast and cheese. Best wishes to all of you in warmer climes - think warm thoughts for me. Or send me a ticket to get me out of this glacial hell!
Cheers, and keep on space truckin',
BD
